Ruth Cavagnaro, CEO

Ms. Cavagnaro has held a number of positions within Finance, Business Development and Sales Management at firms such as Ask Computer Systems, Dun & Bradstreet, ParcPlace-Digitalk and Versant Corporation.

During her tenure at Versant, Ruth's contributions enabled her team to literally triple anticipated sales results for a domestic region.  After working in a business development  role where she led relationships with the company's Fortune 500 partners, she then went on to manage distributors and resellers in all international territories, including Asia-Pacific, Latin America and EMEA.

She is now applying her 20 years of experience in high technology and her ability to foster uncompromising, dynamic teams toward developing ChorusWare's interconnectivity platform for the healthcare industry. Ruth is a member of Astia, formerly known as the Women's Technology Cluster, business accelerator for women-led companies, and HIMSS (Health Information Management Systems Society).

Gail C. Gannon, Vice President, Healthcare Services

Ms. Gannon has over 15 years experience in healthcare industry analysis and operations with an emphasis on evaluation and design of health services, operational improvement, change management, training and support to healthcare delivery organizations.  She has assisted provider and physician organizations, leveraging HIT solutions to re-engineer operational processes; overseen the implementation of management systems, including their integration; and worked with physician organizations and health plans on cash/billing control, HIPAA compliance, and provider-patient service infrastructure.  Gail is the founder of Ensanté Consulting where she developed health policy impact assessments for governmental agencies.  

Gail possesses a Master of Science from Harvard University School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts from University of California, Berkeley. top

Bharat Joshi, Vice President of Technology Mr. Joshi has accumulated over 20-years of experience in IT – the majority at Hewlett-Packard – where he managed and led strategic initiatives to develop global enterprise architectures, software applications and data & knowledge management solutions in support of R&D, supply chain, and quality process improvements.Project successes have included the redefinition of all international business process flows and the rebuilding of a transactional software system to support the $11B of direct procurement purchases made by Hewlett-Packard from nine satellite offices around the world, and the introduction of the first companywide product data management solution.  Additionally, he has written and edited numerous internal Hewlett-Packard publications about integration architectures, information frameworks, and infrastructure management. He has also given talks on IT architectures, integration technologies, and architecture and software     development methodologies both within Hewlett-Packard and as a guest at firms such as Oracle , SAP, Schlumberger and Varian.Bharat holds a degree in Materials Science from the University of Bath, U.K., is a member of the IEEE, and currently volunteers time to help a local RotaCare ambulatory clinic transform their patient healthcare records into a paperless environment. top

  Jeff McKenna, Director of Engineering

Mr. McKenna has been a practicing software professional since 1962 and has contributed to all technical aspects of software development including analysis, design, coding testing, maintenance and training.  He has fulfilled roles of team player, consultant, mentor and entrepreneur.  He has always been on the leading edge of computing from the development of mini-computers, microprocessors, artifical intelligence and object-oriented development to the current area of agile development practices.  He was a founding member and contributor for over a decade to the OOPSLA (Object-Oriented Programming, Systems, Languages and Applications) conference.  In the last decade, Jeff has focused on mentoring and training and brings a wealth of experience to his seminars and classes.  Jeff has consulted with and taught software engineers at a number of companies, including Tektronics, Cigna, Qwest, Sprint, United States Air Force, Amdahl, Lockheed, Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Microsoft and a number of small startup companies. top

  Jeff Sutherland, Ph.D.

Dr. Sutherland is CTO and Worldwide Scrum Consulting Practice Manager for PatientKeeper. Jeff has over 14 years of product and technology experience as well as 15 years in the healthcare industry and is an expert in distributed/outsourced Scrum and CMMI Level 5 Scrum. His recent joint paper with SirsiDynix in the U.S. and StarSoft Development Labs in St. Petersburg reviewed the most productive distributed/outsourced development project ever reported. His distinguished career also includes the founding of two software companies, Object Databases (now Matisse Software) and Individual, Inc.

He has been a Scrum consultant to Microsoft, Oracle, Palm, Yahoo, Ariba, Cadence, and Adobe in Silicon Valley. His recent Google Tech Talk helped Google teams evaluate and extend their Scrum implementation on the revenue generating Google AdWords project. He personally supports Scrum implementations at many other companies in the U.S., Europe, Russia, and Latin America.

Jeff received his master of science in statistics and mathematics from Stanford University, and his doctorate in biometrics, medical imaging and radiation physics from the University of Colorado School of Medicine. top

  Kathy Kim, MBA/MPH

Ms. Kim is a management consultant to healthcare organizations. She also holds an academic position in the Biology Scholars Program at UC Berkeley. Most recently, she was Executive Director of Healthcare Operations and Technology for University of California Office of the President which oversees the five UC Medical Centers. Ms. Kim was also Director of Product Strategy for Healthcare at Oracle Corporation, Founder and CEO of venture-backed Cask Solutions, Inc., and held various roles in provider organizations: Brown & Toland Medical Group (CA), Alta Bates Medical Center (CA), University of California at San Francisco, and Brigham & Women's Hospital (MA). As an Executive Consultant, she acted as President of Oakland Communications Technology Cluster, a high-tech business incubator, where she grew the portfolio of companies to over $250M in venture capital investment.

She serves on the Board of the UC Berkeley Graduate Program in Healthcare Management, Advisory Board of the Women's Technology Cluster, and the Board of the Bay Area Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).

Kathy earned an MBA/MPH at the Haas School of Business and School of Public Health, University of California at Berkeley . She earned her Bachelor's degree in Biology at Harvard College. top

  Alfredo Czerwinski, M.D.

Dr. Czerwinski is the Chief Medical Officer for Lawson & Associates. Previously, he served as full-time Chief Medical Officer for a client firm: CareScience, Inc. and Senior Vice-President and Chief Medical Officer at Sutter Health. He came to Sutter Health from the Kelsey-Seybold Management Division of Caremark International, Inc.

He is a member of the faculty of the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE) and has served on the Steering Committee of the American Medical Group Association's Outcomes Management Consortium (AMGA-OMC), the Executive Committee of the California Cooperative Healthcare Reporting Initiative (CCHRI), and the San Francisco mayor's Blue Ribbon Commission on Universal Health Care. He was an initial board member of the Society of Chief Medical Officers.

Alfredo earned his bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Science at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, his medical doctorate from University of California at San Francisco and was a resident in General Internal Medicine at UCLA. top
